Mission

The mission of the Overseers is to increase visibility and strengthen support for Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital (BWFH). Overseers share a passion for advancing healthcare and a commitment to being well-informed ambassadors who offer their time, network, and financial support to the hospitals.

Guidelines

Overseers are responsible for advancing the mission of BWH and BWFH through philanthropic initiatives and programs. Each member shall participate in two Overseers events each year and encourage others to attend as well.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Support BWH and BWFH with generous annual gifts of $10,000 or more 
  2. Be informed about the work of BWH and BWFH through presentations at Overseer meetings and documents circulated to Overseers; Serve as ambassadors equipped to discuss the hospitals and their programs and services with peers
  3. Communicate positively with friends and associates to enhance understanding and acceptance of the hospitals throughout the community; Invite at least one new person to join each hospital-related event attended
  4. Review existing lists and suggest names of prospective Overseers and donors and help with identification, cultivation, and solicitation
