Stepping Strong for Trauma Innovation

Since 1998, Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) has raised more than $8.5 million through its marathon program—funds that have made a profound difference in the lives of patients and families here in Boston and around the world. This year, we aim to build on this tradition by raising $1.15 million, our most ambitious goal in our 19-year history.

We are thrilled to announce that funds raised by the 2017 BWH Boston Marathon team will benefit the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation. The mission of the center is to realize the full potential of interdisciplinary innovation, at BWH and beyond, to transform trauma research and care. The center was established by the Reny family in honor of the BWH medical team that saved the life and limbs of their daughter, Gillian, who was critically injured in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.

Join us! Together, we will inspire hope and transform outcomes for civilians and soldiers who have suffered from traumatic injuries and events.
