15 Years, $5.8 Million—and Counting

As the Boston Marathon’s principal sponsor, John Hancock makes it possible for Brigham and Women’s Hospital to field a marathon team and to raise funds for life-saving programs. Since 1998 when John Hancock began partnering with BWH, the Brigham and Women's Hospital Marathon Team has raised an incredible $5.8 million.

“In order to help us raise much-needed funding to continue caring for all who come through our doors, the John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program has awarded us race entries for next year’s marathon,” says Betsy Nabel, president of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. “Our goal is to assemble a team of runners dedicated to supporting our mission and helping us to achieve the kind of life-giving breakthroughs for which we are known.”

On Monday, April 21, 2014, the world will be watching as 36,000 runners join together for the 118th Boston Marathon, and the BWH Marathon Team will be there. Visit the BWH Marathon Team site to learn how to support a runner.
