The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) 5K race was held on Saturday, April 19, 2014, two days before the Boston Marathon, with a prize purse of $39,900 at stake.
But not all entrants were in it for the money. For more than 55 runners—Gillian's classmates and fellow dancers, as well as other friends and family—the 5K was an expression of their continued love and support for Gillian and the Stepping Strong Fund that honors her.
The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Fund at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) fuels cutting-edge research and clinical programs in trauma healing and limb reconstruction.
