Q: When does the program take place?
A: Registration is open April 1-30, and the steps challenge is May 1-31 during National Trauma Awareness Month.

Q: Who can participate?

Q: What data will the Movespring app pull from my device of choice?
A: The app only pulls three data points: 1) number of steps; 2) active minutes; and 3) distance traveled. Brigham and Women’s Hospital is the keeper of the names and emails and will not share that data with the program sponsors.

Q: How do I connect my device?
A: When creating your profile, you will be prompted to connect your device.  Simply follow the steps and you’re set!  You can also find your device from the selection of options on this page and follow the directions to get everything set up.

Q: How does syncing work?
A: Your activity data automatically becomes available to MoveSpring after you sync your device, but we can’t pull data directly from your device so you have to sync it!

To sync, open up your device app on your phone. We recommend syncing several times a day to ensure your steps are counted. When you next open the MoveSpring app your steps will be fetched.

There is also a 24-hour grace period that allows participants to sync after each day in a challenge.

Q: How will my information be displayed in the Step Up for Stepping Strong challenge?
A: Other challenge participants will only be able to see the username you create when setting up your MoveSpring profile.

Q: What if I need help connecting?
A: If you need help connecting or have questions on the platform, please contact MoveSpring’s customer support team at

In the mobile app you can do so by going to “Profile” and click the gear icon in the upper right to access your settings. Click the green “Message Support” button to talk to MoveSpring and get help connecting.
