The Impact of the Marr Fund

The Marr Fund is helping Dr. Sperling and her team advance our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and move ever closer to early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Following are highlights of the remarkable progress we have made thanks to your generous support.


Improving Our Understanding of Alzheimer’s

Enhancing Clinical Prevention Trials

Data from the Marr Cohort has informed the design of worldwide Alzheimer’s prevention trials and will ultimately help facilitate FDA approval of promising new drugs.

Maine Marathon

Since 2015, multiple generations of the Marr family and their network of friends and colleagues have run the Maine marathon, half marathon, or relay race to raise funds for the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer’s Research Fund at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. More than 320 dedicated participants have come from 15 states plus Canada, raising a cumulative $1.3 million.
