High Risk Obstetrics

At Brigham and Women’s Hospital we’re committed to doing everything possible to ensure the health of new mothers and their babies. Our High Risk Obstetrics program offers dedicated, multidisciplinary care for women and newborns who have complications identified prior to or during pregnancy.

Our specialists work closely with provider teams from clinical departments to provide personalized care plans for women—beginning before conception and continuing through pregnancy, labor and delivery and the post-partum period. Provider teams include physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and nutritionists.

With a focused patient-and family-centered care approach, our High Risk Obstetrics team provides comprehensive assessment and treatment of fetal disease, including:

  • fetal disease
  • treatment of preterm labor
  • management of women with cardiac disease
  • cardio-metabolic conditions
  • diabetes
  • neurologic conditions
  • rheumatologic disease
  • cancers
  • pulmonary and autoimmune disorders
  • pregnancies with multiple infants

If you would like to support our efforts to provide specialized care to mothers and families during their pregnancies, please consider giving to High Risk Obstetrics.
