Named for John and his beloved wife Josephine, the fund is inspired by Josephine’s courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease and the hope that new research will put an end to this devastating disease for future generations. BWH thanks Marr family and supporters BWH is home to a team of Alzheimer’s researchers and experts distinguished by their unparalleled achievement and vision. During the last three decades, BWH researchers made groundbreaking discoveries about how and why Alzheimer’s develops. With the establishment of the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer’s Research Fund, BWH is poised to take the next steps in pioneering innovative approaches to advance the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.
