The Beth V. Martignetti Distinguished Chair in Nursing

 
On August 4, 2022, Robert S.D. Higgins, MD, MSHA, president of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and executive vice president of Mass General Brigham, hosted the Beth V. Martignetti Distinguished Chair in Nursing celebration honoring inaugural incumbent Madelyn Pearson, DNP, RN-BC, senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer. Other speakers who reflected on the importance of the chair for the nursing community and the many accomplishments of Pearson were Sunil Eappen, MD, MBA, chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs; Cori Loescher, BSN, MM, RN, NEA-BC, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital; and Katie Fillipon, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, deputy chief nursing officer and vice president of the nursing department. Joined by her family, chair namesake Beth V. Martignetti also highlighted the importance of the occasion, sharing reflections from her time as a nurse at the Brigham.
