Every May, the Women’s Health Luncheon highlights the work being done by the Brigham’s Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s Health and Gender Biology to protect and promote the health of women around the world. Specifically, the Connors Center focuses on advancing discoveries in sex- and gender-based biology and improving our understanding of how diseases and drugs impact women and men differently. In addition to hosting a nationally recognized keynote speaker, the luncheon brings these discoveries to light with TEDMED-style presentations from our world-renowned Harvard-affiliated Brigham physicians.
Stay tuned for our keynote speaker announcement in January.

2024 Highlights
Featuring keynote speaker Chelsea Clinton, DPhil, MPH, the 18th annual Women’s Health Luncheon returned in May for its most successful year yet. The record-breaking event raised more than $1 million to advance research and training through the Brigham’s Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s Health and Gender Biology and the Division of Women’s Health. More than 400 guests gathered at the Westin Boston Seaport District to hear an inspiring lineup of experts tackle topics related to health equity solutions in women’s healthcare.
Hosted by a volunteer committee, the luncheon opened with remarks from David F. M. Brown, MD, president of Academic Medical Centers for Mass General Brigham. Catherine Geiss, MD, the Brigham’s deputy chair of radiology, discussed her work to improve access to breast cancer screenings, and Bharti Khurana, MD, MBA, founder and director of the Trauma Imaging Research and Innovation Center, shared ways to better detect and prevent intimate partner violence. In conversation with journalist Lisa Hughes of WBZ-TV News, Clinton—a longtime public health advocate who serves as vice chair of the Clinton Foundation—lauded the Brigham’s dedication to health equity and urged the audience to never give up fighting for a world where all women have access to high-quality care.
“It’s clear that when we invest in women, it’s not only women ourselves who flourish. It’s also our communities and our countries that flourish, as well as our families,” she said. “I’m thankful there are people who are defining these challenges and doing the work of solving them.”
