The Women’s Health Luncheon supports the work being done at Mass General Brigham to improve care and deepen our understanding of women’s health. Our community of supporters raises vital funds for the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s Health Research and the Division of Women’s Health, with a shared mission to transform the health and lives of our patients and improve the wellbeing of women everywhere.
About the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s Health Research
The mission of the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s Health Research is to ignite change in the health of women through catalyzing research, bolstering knowledge and transforming training for the next generation of leaders in medicine.
The Connors Center has led the way in decades of progress for women’s health research. However, the extent to which diseases, drugs, devices and other therapeutic interventions may impact women and men differently is still unknown for many health conditions. The Connors Center pioneers cutting-edge research to expand our knowledge of sex-specific differences in medicine and how diseases and treatments affect women differently. They promote incorporating a sex and gender lens in all medical research, with the goal to improve care for every woman globally.
By training new scientific leaders and providing critical funding to early career investigators, the Connors Center fulfills a central part of its mission to strengthen the pipeline of women’s health champions in the medical research community. Connors Center faculty also advance sex- and gender-informed curricula and other educational resources for physicians and scientists-in-training, and advocate in the public and private sphere for policy changes to advance healthcare for women in Boston and around the world.
About the Division of Women’s Health
Mass General Brigham is home to unmatched expertise and innovation in women’s healthcare and research, leveraging the world-class faculty and infrastructure of our academic medical centers to provide comprehensive, high-quality services across our health system. The Division of Women’s Health, under the leadership of Division Chief Kathy Rexrode, MD, MPH, is a cornerstone of this work and the Mass General Brigham Department of Medicine. Our expert clinicians and investigators deliver care and pioneer research to bring our patients an interdisciplinary approach to their health and well-being, backed by the latest science.
We lead the nation as an exemplary provider of personalized, high-quality healthcare for women through our integrated clinical care programs. Our medical education and training provide superb preparation for fellows and residents pursuing careers in this field. And across Mass General Brigham, research faculty employ basic science and translational research to identify and explain sex- and gender-based differences in health and disease, working within the Division of Women’s Health and across our institutes and specialty areas to advance science and standards of care for the broader scientific and clinical communities.
The Women’s Health Luncheon fuels our collective vision to transform care for women everywhere. We hope you will join us to move this work forward. Thank you for your support.
