Your passion fuels our mission

When you organize your own fundraiser, you can support what matters to you most by doing what you love. Whether it’s organizing social events or playing your favorite sport, there are countless ways to get involved and make a difference. Our community fundraising program is driven by the passion and generosity of individuals, families, and companies that raise critical funds for compassionate patient care and groundbreaking research at our hospital.

Since 2008, community-led fundraising has raised more than $12.5 million to fuel care and discovery. Your creativity and commitment can help accelerate the next lifesaving breakthrough. Put your passion into action—get involved today.

Support what matters to you most

When you start your own fundraiser, you can raise funds for the area of the hospital that is most meaningful to you.

Our community fundraising organizers host events to honor those they love and cure the diseases that impact their lives. They support compassionate caregivers who leave a lasting impression and further life-changing research in the fields of medicine that influence their day to day.

Everyone in our community has a personal connection that drives them to get involved. What’s yours?

Frequently Asked Questions

We are here to help! If you don’t see your question answered below, please contact us at communityevents@bwh.harvard.edu.

Who will help me manage my fundraising event?

While you will be responsible for planning and managing your event, our events team is here to provide guidance and access to our online Community Events toolbox. It contains a wealth of helpful information to help make your event a success, including sample communications, community fundraising logos, tips for organizing your fundraiser, instructions for setting up your online fundraising page, how to leverage social media, and much more. We also recommend forming a committee of friends, family, and colleagues to assist with planning.

Will the hospital cover my expenses?

Event organizers are responsible for covering all expenses related to their fundraising activities. However, expenses may be deducted from the total funds raised before submitting the net proceeds to the hospital. We’re also happy to help brainstorm creative ways to reduce costs, including securing in-kind donations or sponsorships to support your efforts.

Can I use your tax-exempt number for purchases?

While we’re not able to authorize the use of our tax-exempt number for community fundraisers to make purchases, we’re happy to support your efforts in other ways. If a business is donating goods and requests our tax-exempt number to verify our hospital’s tax status or for their own records, we’re glad to provide it directly upon request.

Will you provide a list of donors or help me find corporate sponsors?

To respect privacy and confidentiality, we are not able to share mailing lists of donors, physicians, staff, or vendors. While we are unable to solicit corporate sponsors directly, we’re happy to share best practices and guidance to support your sponsorship outreach efforts.
