What we support

John Marr and his dog, Baloo.

John Marr and his children launched the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer’s Research Fund to fuel innovative research collaborations to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

Named for John and his beloved wife, Josephine, the fund is inspired by Josephine’s courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The Marr family—together with our world-renowned researchers—are focused on finding a way to stop Alzheimer’s disease altogether.

Since 2015, the Marr Fund team has raised more than $2.85 million through the Maine Marathon event, providing vital funds in support of our fight to prevent Alzheimer’s.
