MARR FAMILY

For John Marr and his children, it was a difficult and frustrating journey to watch helplessly as Josephine, John’s wife and mother of the Marr family, battle with Alzheimer’s disease over many years.

The Marr family is not alone. In the U.S., more than five million people suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. Without a major medical breakthrough, this increasingly common brain disorder is projected to affect more than 15 million Americans within 35 years. Still, this disease is the only one of the 10 leading causes of death in the U.S. that cannot be prevented, cured, or slowed.

With so many lives at stake, we must take decisive, concerted action now. The Marr family is teaming with Brigham and Women’s Hospital to change the trajectory of Alzheimer’s disease for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren. Together, we believe this can and must be done.
